The Benefits

Anyone that has ever done it knows that buying any used car is a minefield. Sadly, Mercedes-Benz is no exception. Get the right car and the result will be reliability, prestige and pleasure, get the wrong car and it will be nothing but grief.

All Mercedes Benz models as listed on ‘THE MODELS’ page of this website are, even the oldest of them, still perfectly at home in today’s driving conditions. Furthermore, as the Marque evolved through the eighties and nineties, models throughout the range were fitted with more and more modern day driving aids, all of them with PAS (Power Assisted Steering), most of them with ABS (Advanced Braking System) and EW (Electric Windows), many of them with A/C (Air-Conditioning), and in the nineties with airbags and ASR (Anti-Skid Reduction). All of them were built to last.

With all of the above in mind, then think of the cost of these cars when new ( prices ranged from £10,000 in the seventies to over £100,000 in the late 90’s) and then look at the value they offer today (£1,800 to around £5,000 for most – up to £15,000 for the now classic models) and then consider arguably the biggest benefit of all – the depreciation/appreciation . All the cars we offer now have, whilst they are cared for, already lost all the money they ever will. The earlier models are now going up in value. This is not surprising when considering the fact that cars like all of the Mercedes-Benz models we sell are no longer made, not just in Germany, but anywhere in the world.

We would suggest that, if a Ford Mondeo second hand at say £10,000 then depreciates to £5000 over a three year period, it must be worth considering the benefits of a £5000 (or less) Mercedes Benz that cost up to ten times that amount and more when new. These cars are still good and reliable for hundreds of thousands of miles to come and if properly cared for.
